Founder & Family Intervention Specialist | Fuller Support Care, LLC
Gussie Carr Fuller, MPH, NCIP, is a behavioral healthcare professional, National Certified Intervention Professional, and Founder of Fuller Support Care, LLC. With more than a decade of leadership experience spanning behavioral healthcare, substance use treatment, mental health advocacy, clinical outreach, and strategic partnership development, Gussie brings a distinctive combination of behavioral health expertise, executive leadership, and family-centered intervention support to individuals and families navigating complex behavioral health concerns.
Throughout her career, Gussie has worked alongside clinicians, treatment providers, healthcare executives, community organizations, referral partners, and other professionals to help individuals access appropriate levels of care. Her experience has reinforced an important reality: having quality clinical resources available does not always mean an individual is ready or willing to accept them. That is where family intervention can become an important extension of the continuum of support.
Through Fuller Support Care, Gussie works collaboratively with families and, when appropriate, alongside clinicians, treatment providers, case managers, and other members of an individual’s support network. Her role is not to replace clinical assessment or treatment. Rather, she helps address one of the most difficult barriers that can exist before treatment begins - resistance to accepting help.
Using a structured, compassionate, and family-centered intervention process, Gussie helps families understand the dynamics surrounding their loved one’s situation, prepare for productive conversations, establish healthy and appropriate boundaries, reduce behaviors that may unintentionally reinforce resistance, and communicate their concerns from a place of dignity, clarity, and care. The objective is to help create an environment in which the resistant individual can more clearly recognize the support and treatment options already available and make an informed decision to accept help.
Gussie has a particular interest in supporting former professional athletes and their families. She understands that transition from professional sports can introduce a unique convergence of identity, family dynamics, relationships, lifestyle changes, behavioral health concerns, and decisions about seeking care. For individuals accustomed to independence, high performance, public visibility, and managing challenges privately, accepting behavioral health support may be particularly difficult.
In these circumstances, Gussie serves as a trusted bridge between the family, the individual, and the professional resources positioned to help them. Her work can complement the efforts of clinicians and organizations serving former professional athletes by helping families navigate the critical period between recognizing that help is needed and the individual becoming willing to engage with that help. She provides families with education, preparation, intervention guidance, treatment navigation, and continued support designed to move the family system toward constructive action while preserving the dignity and autonomy of the individual.
Gussie’s professional background includes senior leadership in behavioral healthcare organizations, clinical outreach, nonprofit development, and the cultivation of strategic healthcare and community partnerships. She earned her Master of Public Health from Florida A&M University and has built her career around connecting people, families, providers, and resources in ways that create meaningful pathways to care.
Through Fuller Support Care, Gussie offers organizations a highly personalized and discreet family intervention resource that can integrate with existing behavioral health and wellness services—particularly in situations where excellent resources are already available, but the individual remains reluctant to engage.
Her philosophy is straightforward: sometimes the missing piece is not another resource - it is helping the individual and family reach the point where they are prepared to use the resources already within reach.
